Recreational League

The recreation program consists of a Fall soccer season for area youth aged from under six years to under nineteen years as of July 31st of that year. The season starts with practices in late August. Games begin in September and end in November. A fun tournament, for Sharks teams only, is held at the end of the season.

Thomas Maurer, Director of Recreational

Thomas "Tommy" Maurer has been with the Sharks for

11 seasons,serving as the Older Boys Director, and for

the last 3 years in the Recreational Program. He grew up

in Germany and trained there with Rot Weiss Essen and

Zweckel. He moved to England where he played with

Crystal Palace, Millwell and Dullwhich Hamlet. He came

to the USand played in the NASL with the Tampa Bay Rowdies. While with the Sharks he has been a scout for the CalSouth ODP program and for the last year he has directed the Sharks Soccer Camps, the Sharks Jr. World Cup League and the Sharks MLS League. Tommy holds a USSF "E" license.
